Save the Krusty Krab Day 9: Tattletale Strangler and Grease Fires

Day 9 stacks a new villain, a kitchen grease fire and the heaviest energy drain so far. Here's how to get through it.

Reviewed WalkthroughUnofficial fan guide

Quick answer

Stop the Tattletale Strangler by getting a police officer to arrest him or by using an Orb of Confusion. Put out the grease fire with a fire extinguisher as soon as it starts, and save an energy restore for this day.

The Tattletale Strangler

He applies a Slowed debuff, which makes every job take longer. You have two counters:

  • Police: get an officer to arrest him.
  • Orb of Confusion: buy one in the Night Shop before Day 9, or play Patrick, who starts with one.

The grease fire

Day 9 also brings a kitchen grease fire. A fire extinguisher handles it; Pearl starts with one. Fires cost stars, so deal with it before going back to orders.

Energy on Day 9

Energy drains fastest here. Go in with energy near full, keep a Kelp Shake or Night Shop energy item (about +15) ready, and don’t sprint when you don’t need to. In co-op, Gary’s Magic Conch can revive anyone who passes out.

Checklist before you start Day 9

  1. An Orb of Confusion, or Patrick in the crew
  2. A fire extinguisher, or Pearl in the crew
  3. At least one energy restore
  4. Trash emptied, so the Hash-Slinging Slasher has less reason to show up

Make it through and Day 10 brings milkshakes and a full dining room. See the Day 1–10 walkthrough.
